The plant resembles a medium-sized, broad-leaved cryptocoryne. Used in the aquarium as cryptocoryner, but requires proper light to develop colors. The leaves become 4-8 cm wide and 6-12 cm long, so the whole plant becomes quite wide. The colors vary from dusty green over light purple to red violet often on the same leaf. Latest leaves are bright pink.
